About Cylinder Exploration Drilling
CED is an international exploration drilling company. We manufacture drilling equipment, including the SFM Series, run contract drilling operations, and supply the consumables, spares, and technical support that keep programmes running. With manufacturing in Indonesia and South Africa, offices in London and Johannesburg, and representatives across Africa, CED is built to support exploration projects wherever they're happening.
We're not simply an equipment manufacturer. Our teams also work as drilling contractors, providing drillers, supervisors, mechanics, and programme management, so clients can work with CED as a supplier, a contractor, or a complete exploration partner. From a single spare part to a fully managed drilling programme, the goal stays the same: keep exploration moving.

Founder & CEO — Freddy Mann
CED was built on operational experience, not a sales pitch. Founder and CEO Freddy Mann served in the British Army before gaining hands-on drilling experience on remote exploration projects internationally, the kind of experience that sets a simple standard: equipment has to work hundreds of kilometres from the nearest workshop, not just look good in a factory. That standard shaped both the SFM Series and CED's wider approach to exploration drilling.
